Founder & Director, Shannon is currently taking time away from business to experience motherhood. The Aequus ethos and philosophy, was brought to life by Shannon who at the time had over a decade of experience in high-level sports, personal rehabilitation, and client coaching in her unique approach to training and movement. Her own journey through injury recovery and her deep understanding of the interconnectedness of mind and body have fuelled her passion for holistic healing and strength building. Detailed movement observation, a profound grasp of anatomy and understanding the impact of both gym routines and daily life on overall wellness are essentials Shannon prioritises in her coaching team. Through her qualifications as an Accredited Sport and Exercise Scientist, Pregnancy and Postpartum Certified Coach, Institute of Integrative Nutrition™ Health Coach, and Certified Communication Code™ Consultant, among others, Shannon ensures Aequus tailors individualised plans that prioritise strength, balance, and heightened body awareness. Her ultimate goal for Aequus members is optimisation, both physically and in life, by achieving a harmonious state of balance and increased internal awareness. Beyond her professional pursuits, Shannon finds joy in training and competing in showjumping with her horses and cherishing time with her husband, Gavin, on their farm. Shannon is a proud lululemon Store Ambassador, partnering to build meaningful connections and unlock greater possibilities and well-being for all.
Poppy Chapman
Front of House Manager and Member Services
Currently in Year 11 senior school, Poppy thrives in her passion for science and maths, aspiring to pursue medicine at university post-graduation. Alongside her academic pursuits, Poppy harbours a deep interest in the health and fitness, aiming to become a trainer while studying at uni. Her motivation stems from the joy and sense of community she experiences in the gym, where she finds solace in training and connecting with others. When not at school, Poppy dedicates her time to training, working at Aequus Movement, cherishing moments with friends, and caring for her beloved dog, Norman.
Talisa Kirwan
Club Manager and Women’s Health Specialist
A wonderful leader and connector, Talisa is the Manager at Aequus Movement. She embarked on her health, fitness, and wellness journey by completing yoga teacher training in both India and Canada, specialising in Yin Yoga. With a focus on promoting physical, mental, and emotional well-being through movement, Talisa emphasises correct technique and breathing to foster holistic wellness. Her extensive experience working with diverse clients, each with unique needs including injury prevention and rehabilitation, has equipped her with a nuanced understanding of individualised care. Talisa is passionate about educating and training clients with a multifaceted approach to their health goals, prioritising sustainability and realistic achievements. Talisa holds Certificates III and IV in Fitness, further enriching her expertise in guiding clients towards optimal health and vitality. Previously collaborating with physiotherapists in patient handover from rehabilitation to strength and conditioning, she has honed her skills in delivering comprehensive wellness solutions, notably having undertaken her pre- and post-natal training since her return to Australia.

Omar has a flair for creative and effective training programs and runs all of the programming within the club. He has over 15 years of experience in health and fitness spanning the UK and Australia, 'Pasha' is renowned for his profound understanding of biomechanics and commitment to quality movement. As a Level 2 CrossFit Coach, he emphasises the importance of empathy and mental resilience alongside physical conditioning, guiding clients through personalised fitness journeys. Rejecting the one-size-fits-all approach, Omar believes in the individualised nature of the road to fitness, prioritising holistic wellness and empowerment over conventional metrics. John Raineri
Holistic Movement Specialist
John draws from an eclectic mix of methodologies, influenced by luminaries like Paul Chek and Kelly Starrett, to address movement patterns and promote pain-free training. Having overcome a serious back injury, he brings empathy and insight to his coaching, aiming to liberate others from pain. Immersed in the Ido Portal Movement Method for two years, John's expertise spans handstands, mobility, and gymnastics. With a decade of experience in bodybuilding, powerlifting, and soccer, he understands the transformative power of movement for strength and coordination. Currently completing his final year in a Bachelor of Physiotherapy, John holds Certificates III & IV in Fitness, guiding clients towards holistic well-being.

With over 12 years of experience in the fitness industry, Abbey has cultivated a holistic approach to health and training that transcends traditional fitness paradigms. Tim Geronimo is a seasoned fitness enthusiast and professional with a valuable 20+ years of personal and professional experiences in coaching, soccer, martial arts, and triathlons. Whilst having roots in coaching, Tim pivoted in 2021 to pursue his passion in health and fitness full time, after over a decade serving with the Australian Defence Force. Tim's impressive academic qualifications include a Bachelor of Exercise and Sports Science, Strength and Conditioning L1 Certification, Primal Health ™ coaching, Wim Hof Fundamentals ™ and an ongoing Bachelor of Physiotherapy. Tim's diverse skill set and dedication to continuous learning make him a valuable asset to the Aequus Movement team. His extensive experience allows him to inspire and guide individuals towards achieving their fitness and health goals through personalised and effective training programs. In addition to his athletic pursuits, Tim recently completed a Coast to South Pole expedition in Antarctica (2023).

Inspired by his passion for coaching and wellness, he holds a Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science, Sports Coaching, and Human Nutrition from the University of Canberra. Jordan has been deeply involved in Rugby Union at elite level and overseas and believes in the transformative power of fitness for holistic well-being. Getnet is a dedicated fitness professional with a rich background in athletics and over 15 years of experience in running techniques and sport-specific training. Having honed his skills in boutique gym settings, like Celebrity Fitness Indonesia, working closely with high-end clients, before bringing his expertise to a boutique gym in Mauritius.
With a Bachelor of Physical Education and Sport, along with credentials from the National Academy of Sports Medicine in Performance Training and Corrective Exercise, Getnet is well-equipped to guide clients in their individual fitness journeys.
